I've got a 4spd on my 327,only problem is i don't know what it is.It is aluminum and 3 people have told me three different possibilities but no one could identify it.Can anyone tell me how to.Thanks again.

How many bolts does the shifter cover have?
7 = Munice or Saginaw
9 = Borg Warner
if 7:
The side cover on Muncies are quasi-trapezoidal (they appear to be wider along the top edge than the bottom edge.)
Saginaws are more ovally in shape.
I hope this helps for a lo-tech visual examination

Yeh. That is exactly correct. With a little hump at the top of the center for the top center bolt. Couldn't have described it better Mike.

BTW, if you download the Hurst catalog( www.mrgasket.com) they have a tranny ID section that's not bad. It's a big download though ( 7 megs) so you better be running a cable modem.
