Just thinking, can you do the same with a 4dr hardtop - convert to a 2dr HT?

3 Chiefs Mar 31st, 08, 10:23 PM Andy I think that all started with a company called CARS. I might be wrong but I think the company that is building the new 57 Chevy bodies were the ones who ran an ad to convert your 57 4dr Chevy to a 2 dr convertible. I remember seeing the ad just not positive on who's it was. Sorry I don't recall the thread.
It can be done though. A 4dr can and has been converted to a 2 dr hardtop or a convertible. Every bit of that sheetmetal is available here. http://www.carsinc.com/

BULKSS Mar 31st, 08, 10:29 PM Andy I could be wrong. But I think the guy who was doing the 55 4dr - 2dr conversion was a member from the H.A.M.B do a search for that or Jalopy Journal I have seen a thread about it over there.

dirtrocker Apr 8th, 08, 8:33 PM Was it CarCraft that did the article where they took a 57 4 door and made it into a convertible with repo sheetmetal? Anyone else remember this?
SHOP RAT Apr 8th, 08, 10:58 PM My dad and I did a 55 a few years ago , It really is not that hard to do all you need is a pair of doors and jamb sections from a donar
Clean Cut Creations Apr 9th, 08, 12:04 PM If I did the conversion from a post 4 dr to a post 2 dr I would CERTIANLY be using full replacement 1/4s for a 2 dr instead of butchering in that cut up rear door section..... Just my .02
SHOP RAT Apr 9th, 08, 4:00 PM Yes, it would definatly be better with new quarter panels but it is not a must
