: Charlotte Auto Fair
WillW23 Mar 31st, 08, 6:47 PM Anyone going in my area? I know with the price of fuel, it might hinder some people driving to Charlotte. I love the spring show and plan on being there from Thurs-Sat in the infield spot- Orange CO-014. If you get tired, stop in and chat a while, I always have an extra chair!
BillsCamino Mar 31st, 08, 7:10 PM Thought about heading up there Saturday but weather is calling for rain...:(
mmurphy77 Mar 31st, 08, 7:16 PM I'm gonna try and make one of those days.
Chevelle_Nut Mar 31st, 08, 7:28 PM My 72 is supposed to be in the Carolina Chevelle Club display. If it rains I may not take it. I really don't want to drive it 90 miles each way in bad weather.
MrBill66Malibu Mar 31st, 08, 7:36 PM Planning on going too.... weather permitting
SOM2001SS Apr 1st, 08, 3:21 PM I will be there, but not with my Chevelle this time...with my 2001 Camaro SS and the Charlotte F-body club.

Chevelle_Nut Apr 4th, 08, 3:17 PM Weather report says storms and heavy rain tomorrow. Looks like the 72 will have to stay home under cover this year. I was really looking forward to going.

Same here. :(
We canceled the idea of heading out early this morning based on last night's weather forecast.
Our alternate plan was to attend the Year One event at Stone Mountain tomorrow (Sat) but that ain't lookin' too good either.
Third choice is a cruise in Cartersville tomorrow night...weather supposed to be cleared up by then.
We'll see....
mmurphy77 Apr 4th, 08, 7:37 PM We decided to stay home as well. Saturday was the best day for us but it's supposed to rain like the dickens. Maybe September will be better weather.
WillW23 Apr 5th, 08, 6:22 AM well i am here at the event, and the weather held off yesterday, but it never got to be 70 degrees, like the weatherman was calling for. Thursday they called for it to be 60, but never got above 45. this has been the worst Spring Autofair i have ever been to, as far as cold and rain. There was a huge turnout yesterday, I guess the locals figured out, Friday might be the best day to come out. Have to wait till the fall for better weather.
flash Apr 5th, 08, 7:27 AM Was looking for a 67 Chevelle SS or Malibu coupe , anyone seen any project cars
for sale down there?
Email turbo29@enter.net
WillW23 Apr 5th, 08, 3:52 PM I saw a nice 67 Blue project in the green field area today, but did not really get a good look at it, as it was very muddy all around the car, and the seller was no where to be found
hooknreel Apr 6th, 08, 9:18 PM I went to LOWES on sat very very very disappointed with the turn out of ppl selling stuff, alot of ppl packed up on friday i think cuase of weather and sat evening alot more left ,I also DID NOT SEE GROUND UP there ??? did i just miss them or they not come either ?? thanks ray
chevelle malibu 64 Apr 6th, 08, 9:41 PM I didn't see Ground-up either. Yeah the weather sucked. We were came down Thursday and were plannning to stay till Sunday but we left Saturday @ noon. I seen alot of sellers were packing up Saturday and passed a couple on the way. If you looking for a project there, you were going to pay big bucks for most of them. I think people were alittle proud of their work or something. Did anybody think some of the parts were overpriced as usually? My dad was looking for a tailgate for a 89 Chevy. There were 2 of them over $300 but he found one for $40 that had a couple of dents. I looked at 2 doors for a 64 Chevelle. The corners were bad on one and needed door skins but still wanted $250 for the pair.
WillW23 Apr 7th, 08, 8:08 AM Yes the prices were way out of reach. I saw a rusty, pitted badly 62 Impala LH hood hinge in the read field Thursday, and I have an extra RH side in the shop, so I say, it is not the best, but maybe i can clean it up. I asked the guy selling it, and I thought he said $15.00, I think kinda high, but they are rare, so I get out the 12, and he said "No, I Said 50.00!". Needless to say, I let it be. I also saw a used tool dealer in the green field that day as well, and wanted to come back Saturday and get some, and they were gone, I guess Friday night after the rain. I can only hope Sept will be better.
