Do you know the year of the seats you bought genaro?

69-72's are the same except for the cover pattern, they have the seat back release button on the back of the seat and have head rests. Other years will fit into a 72 but won't be correct.

68's have the seat back release button on the side.
Not sure if all 68's had head rests or if they were an option in 68.

Also not sure about 66-67's so maybe someone else will answer to those years but I think 66's have metal backs.

This is what I believe to be true of bucket seats in Chevelles.

'66 - Metal Backs, no side button. Which means when you come to a quick stop, the seats fold forward. I wonder who approved that design. :clonk:

'67 - Metal Backs with a chrome side button.

'68 - Plastic Backs with a chrome side button.

'69-'72 - Plastic Backs with the seat release button in the middle of the seat backs. Obviously the cover patterns changed from year to year.

Headrests became an option in '66, not sure what year they became standard. I think it was 1969.

Since we are on the subject ;)
Will a split bench seat out of a 1971 Skylark fit in a 69 Chevelle?

69-72 front benches are the same as are the buckets i believe but the rear seats are totally different the 69s are wide and the 70-72 are really short i believe the rear seats in a 68 are different that a 69 i think they are wider.

It never dawned on me that genaro was asking about back seats.
