I occasionally have problems with lock ups when viewing video. I have to end the task to get out of the program. This happens when viewing DVD's and when I am viewing recorded TV through Windows Media Center. I have Windows XP. Any ideas?

Is the video memory shared with the system memory ?

How about some specifics about your machine? Next time you are watching a movie, open the task manager, and click on the performance tab.. are you CPU and Memory being maxed?

Do you have the latest codecs?
Do you have MCE Rollup2 Update Installed?
Have you done the usual... Adaware, Spybot, Virus Scan?
Check for unecessary programs in the task menu and stop them, or remove them from startup altogther using msconfig.

Do you have the latest, video card drivers?
Do you have the latest, Mobo bios and drivers?
