The reason I ask is I've got about 200 miles on my recently rebuilt engine. The engine restorer is supposed to "coat" the inside of the engine from where the metal has worn away (or something to this effect). The question is, would putting this in my engine after I change the oil help the engine or won't do a thing for it? Thanks

Don't know about anyone else but I sure wouldn't put it in. Most of that stuff like STP, Motor Honey,Rebuild In A Can, etc. is just a waste of time and money.
If the motor was built right just change the oil and filter and use a good brand and grade.

After 200 miles you shouldn't need any "mechanic in a can" type product. I have used it and had mixed results. Nothing definite but "seat of the pants" told me it worked on one engine I tried it on but not on others. Just do regular oil changes and you'll get more than enough life out of that engine.

Get the motor broke in,then say, after about 2000 miles switch to synthetic oil. You'll be goood to go!!! ;)

Don't use it in a new motor, or even one in good shape. That stuffs for an old motor you're just trying to make last through the year. And at that it seems to work pretty well. I had a customer with a plumbing van that was totally worn out. I used to change plugs in it every month from oil fouling. After trying it I didnt have to change plugs for 6 months. I also tried it in an old diesel tractor of my dad's. It didnt have enough compression to fire up on its own, always required starting fluid. After putting it in and running the tractor a few hours, it got where you can start it without fluid. So it can help..
BTW, upon disassembly of the tractor the filter housing etc wer full of solids from the Engine Restore. It didnt block anything though. No idea what it all is but I definately wouldnt pour it in a new motor.
