Wow, our combos are almost exactly alike. 60 over 427, 10:1 compression, performer rpm intake, holley 750 vac sec, UD solid 272/282 cam. 3.55 gears, posi, but i am a little lighter at 3640 with driver. I don't know the power on the car as i am still putting in the engine, but from everything i heard it should be one rockin combo. Someone will have a better guestimate.

Ok, i am at home and i pulled up an old desktop dyno when i was first putting together the combination. The numbers i got were 516hp @ 5500 rpm and 537ft/lbs @ 4000-4500 rpm. That is with my 272/282 solid cam. Here are what i got with your cam and no other changes, we have the same heads and everything else. 557hp @ 6000, 544ft/lbs @ 4500. Remember though that is desktop dyno and just a rough guestimate. Not gospel by any means.

Those numbers are not to bad, is there anyone els that wants to take a guess? Or maybe someone with near the same combo has had there engine on a real dyno that would give us there H.P reading.
Is there anything els I could do to get more power out of this engine?

I'll guess 475-500 h.p.
More compression = more power.
That or on the bottle baby.
Let us know if you get an accurate measurement.

Your in the 500 hp 525ft/lb torque area. It all depends on the tuning. My 454 is very similar and is 543hp with 563 ft/lbs of tourque without any major tuning.I have a crane 234/242 @ .050 .612/.630 lift on a 112* lsa, 781s with 2.19/1.88 valves and a mild port job,10.3:1 comp.

are you also running a hyd roller? sounds like we do have similar combo's what kind of ET you getting? I have not seen the track with this combo yet. But I have went against my buddy around 6-7 times and we go back and forth winning by a fender and he runs upper 11s. I would have to figure I must be real close to the 550 or more mark.

Anyone else care to take a guess, or give me advice on what I could change or do to get more power?

Stock 427's had 10.25 comp.with hydraulic cam and 11.0 comp.with mech.cam. and 425hp @5600rpm. I did a few calc. on desktop dyno and estimated 1/4m. times between 11.61-11.98 with your combo! If you want more power step up comp. but would need to run higher octane gas so you need to decide what intended usage is. If mostly street I think your 10.25comp. is perfect. I like your carb, heads, and gear ratio for your combo! What is your header tube size? Good luck with your combo!

With your CR and small heads I think your cam is fine. When are you going to run it at the track?! Would like to see how close we were to predicting ET with your combo! Eh? I was just thinking you would do better with larger carb-say 850dp! 750 a little small!

UDHarold says 510 to 525 BHP, depending on how heads actually flow..... Also over 510 ftlbs torque....
