I don`t think so. What makes you think it came that way?

In high school, a friend mine had a '67 that ate a ditch really bad. It was rebuilt with a '66 front end. Was a good looking car, just not quite right.

I wonder if you bought my sisters old car...:D

Everyone called it a 66 1/2 chevelle after she wrecked the front end in a rainstorm...we located a 67 car (happened to be an SS) and used the front end to fix her car then painted the whole car white.

This was back in like 1982 or 83.

I have never heard of one coming from the factory like that ever.

we put a 55 chevy front cap on a 55 pontiac in the 60s. it became the pontolet!!! 55 chevy front ends look great on 56 chev bodies too.

In a time from the past when people were largely unconcerned with originality - they were just cars - "close enough" mixing and matching of front clips on wrecked cars was common enough. The '64 front clip interchanges with the '65, the '66 front clip interchanges with the '67.

On El Caminos in particular I always thought the '67 front clip better matched the styling of the '66 tail end, and that the '67 tail end better matched the styling of the '66 front end.

I really like the look of a '71 or '72 Chevelle rear bumper and lights on a '70 - and likewise I think the '70 rear bumper and lights look better on the '71 and '72 Chevelles.

Nope, sorry, never happened ... someone put a '67 front clip on a '66 body; I've seen more than one of those, or the opposite.

Post your VIN or Trim Tag info. Most likely what you are looking at if it is an original car with no sheet metal changes, is a early model 67 that got titled as a 66. I have seen here on TC before where a next year model was incorrectly titled as a current year model due to DMV not following the model year calendar correctly. Can't remember what state it was.
