Can someone tell me if I need to have my ball joint tapers redone?
I used Prussian blue to mark the tapers, rotated the joints to leave witness marks and have found, near the bottom of all four ball joint tapers, there's about 3/8" of clear metal, indicating no footprint with the ball joint. Since it's the same on all bores, could it be the joints and not the bores?
There are too many reports on the internet of failed ball joints due to tapers being machined improperly.
Appreciate the assistance!
They are '69 Camaro spindles from a disc brake kit I purchased.
I tried to include the pictures, but the site won't allow attachments to be added.
