I have a .60 over 402 that will be used as a weekend cruiser in a 72 chevelle, I want my a/c and power brakes to work well so it will have a real mild cam. It has 3:55 gears,T-400 and I am considering a 4 speed auto, is it a waste of time and money to put big valves into these heads they are 049's, I have not chose a cam yet but the compression is stock.
TIA

I wouldnt bother with it. You can make plenty of power on stock valve sizes as long as the rest of the combo is right. And considering that you are planning on going mild with the buildup, I cant see how you would manage to completely tap out the resources in the stock valve size to begin with, so Id say it wouldnt be worth it to go larger.
