There's been about a zillion billion million threads posted about gas gauge problems and how to trouble shoot them. I'm sure that if you do a search, you'll find the same symptom that you are experiencing and how to solve your problem. There's some simple electrical checks that you can perform to narrow down exactly where the fault lies. It's all been documented so there's no reason to reinvent the wheel here.

Past full usually indicates that the sensor wire is open or the ground for the sensor or gauge. Go here for some good troubleshooting tips.

If I've told you once, I've told you a zillion, million times. Stop exaggerating! ;)

Sometimes it can be tough to know which questions have been asked a lot of times. I usually do a search before I post. Sometimes I forget.

But yeah, search is a handy feature. Usually you will end up with two or three ways to solve a problem and then you can pick and choose, or make up your own solution from the parts.

Gas gauge is one of the few things on my car that still works. The rest I fixed from reading posts here.

Good luck.
