: 1970 Fuse Box diagram/picture
1970SS502 Mar 28th, 08, 4:21 PM Hey all, sorry if I am just to ignorant to find it or maybe I searched for it wrong but...my 70's fuse box is so hard to read I've always just used a friends old one he had hanging in his garage but now it's gone. I am just either too old or too blind to see any of the printing. I just want a standard diagram of a 1970 or 71-72 if they're the same.
Thanks guys/gals.
Mark
Chuck Mar 28th, 08, 5:37 PM Mark, I have heard that the NAPA auto supply site has most of the electrical diagrams and might include the fuse block layout. Otherwise, someone else might be able to help. In the mean time I will "bump" it to the top.
Have a great weekend.

Big White Mar 28th, 08, 6:11 PM I seem to recall a photo that was posted by Eleree Colby not too many months ago but other than the fact that it was posted in the Electrical section, I don't recall what the thread topic was. Do a search of topics posted by Eleree and maybe you'll get lucky and the photo will pop up.
If you have 1970 Chassis Service Manual, look on page 12-2 in the ELECTRICAL - BODY AND CHASSIS section. It shows what you are looking for.

Thank you Rich!
1970SS502 Mar 29th, 08, 12:42 PM I've had no luck and don't really want to go buy a manual. Can anyone take a clear picture of their 70 stock fuse box (or 71/72 if virtually the same) and either email it to me or post it? All my dash lights no longer come on when I turn my lights on. The normal interior lights all come on, just no dash or the after market tach/water temp/oil press gauges. Everything else works just fine. I'm hoping it may just be a fuse?

No secret, Dean. I'm one of those over the hill retards who doesn't know how to post pictures so when Mark didn't seem to be getting any photo related help, I PM'd him with a description of the fuse locations and the fuse nomenclature as it appears on the block.

Hi Mark:
Sorry I can't help you with a picture - I don't know how to post one. However, in the mean time, I hope this helps:
As you know, the fuse block has two columns of fuses. Here is how they are labeled, from top to bottom:
*Left Hand Column:*
(1st opening is UNUSED)
CLK LTR CTSY
TAIL LPS
STOP HAZ
5th row: Connector marked LPS & fuse INST LPS (The INST LPS fuse is that little shortie)
*Right Hand Column:
*HEATER AC
WIPER
RADIO
DIR SIG BACK UP
GAUGES
Down the middle between the two columns are three spade connectors. From top to bottom they are labeled:
BAT
ACC
IGN
I hope this helps you out.
This helped me out 100% and maybe it will help others...so here is the PM he sent. Again thanks Rich!

Very much appreciated, sorry I couldn't find it with the search feature. I did copy and print it and it's now laminated and stuck to a nice spot on my garage wall! Thanks!
