Hey group i have a 750 double pumper on my 383. i went to check WOT and the position of the butterflies at WOT. the primaries are all the way open however the secondaries are only open about 60%.
Looking down carb the primaries are vertical to the bore at WOT but not the secondaries. is there and adjustment for this. i have been on holleys web site and could find nothing in there tech info. please help i have been wondering why the car falls flat at around 5200 when the cam makes power to 6200. seems to make sinse to me. thanks tommy

check the secondary rod..there are a couple of different kinds...there is one that allows a delay..and one that opens at the same time as the primaries...either one can take some tweaking to work right...its just a little bend here and there

bigjim the rod that connects the two is already strait. do you know if they make a longer rod? my carb is set up to progressively open secondaries as the primaries open. it is not the 1:1 that i read about in old posts and in the holley tech. thanks tommy

I've seen that on about 50% of the double pumpers I've messed with. I usually use a small tip on an oxy acetelyne torch and heat the linkage rod before bending, you'll have to put more of a bend in it effectively making it shorter. If you bend it cold it may crack as they seem to be forged or cast.

Interesting i need to make shorter. thats easy. i guess i did not look close enough at the mix. nothing like torch flames around the carburator. :D , you guys should start laying some bets ;) . will look closely this evening and get a game plan. should you not hear back well you can pretty much guess what happened. graemlins/clonk.gif . thanks tommy
ps what a relief to know my problem is not unique.

take the link off the carb before you heat and bend it :D

I've always done it right on the carb with a pair of pliers. Just make it sort of a shallow "V".
