I'm changing my 70 Malibu 350 over to HEI any recommendations on where I should pull the power from or should I just pick a 12v switched power feed that is conveniently located?

Look on the fuse panel. There should be a fuse marked ign. There is a spade terminal next to it. Use this and nothing else. Unless you rework the old wire that went to the coil to remove the resistor.

You might want to use the search feature at the top of the page as this has been heavily discussed in the past.

Hope this helps Rick

Thanks 68,

I read all the posts that looked semi related here in the performance thread. It had been a while since I had been smacked with the "Use the search feature NEWB!"

I was kinda hungaring for it I guess. I needed one answer and you provided it.

I'll be sure to search in the future. Just only have 1 internet access point and that is here at work and I am limited to a short period of time to use it. So I posted and ran, expecting this answer.

Thanks again

It needs a full 12 volts with nothing else being fed by the same power source.

One place to get a new wire and HEI connector is here (HEI-1). Need to replace the round lug on the end with a 1/4 inch slip-on type to slide on the IGN terminal. The connector has about 15 feet of wire on it so it can be routed cleanly any way you install it.

Hey turbo mark. Sorry if I sounded like a jerk. I wasn't trying to be. If you need more info, you might want to search in Engine or Electrics and wiring or Tech 2004

you didn't come off that way at all 68. I was having fun with it. I could have searched, maybe I was just being lazy.
