I am going to put a automatic floor shifter into my 71 malibu th350 tranny. I dont like the stock shifter look, so what would you guys say was the best shifter out there. Also I would like the shifter to have the ratcheting action. Thanks

I usually don't do my business in the street, but maybe someone has figured out how to put wheels on a toilet and give it some power. :D

Sorry, couldn't resist with the mispelling of the title graemlins/clonk.gif

I'm sure someone will be able to help you out, I don't have an auto so I really don't know much about it.

I like the B&M megashifter and starshifter for what I do, but they tell me the best is the cheetah SCS shifter.

I'm quite fond of my B&M Quicksilver. Looks good and functions very well.

Oops, didn't realize you had two of these going.

I don't care for the B&M's... I like my Hurst quarter stick.

B&M Z-Gate. Works perfectly, no jerking around with ratchet crap, lowest-priced B&M (101.99 in Summit), works every time and easy to maintain. It has a minimum of moving parts to wear out, also.
I have several in my street cars and a CO2-powered Quarter stick in my race car.

i bought a b&m starshifter years ago and was happy for a while but got pissed when the little plastic knob broke off in my hand.i made a replacement piece out of steel(like it should have been)and got good use for around 3 years until i just plain wore the sucker out.this time around i have a hurst pistol grip quarter stick.i'm not buying anymore shifters with plastic parts in high-stress areas.when i got my hurst they included a freshen-up service offer for a very reasonable price.when my shifter starts wearing i can send it in for a freshen-up.as far as i know this includes auto shifters.i don't think b&m offers this.i sh*#t-canned my starshifter.not really bashing, just real-life observation!

My 68 has a B&M Pro stick and it has worked great for over 5 years. I also have a Hurst quater stick for my 70 and they are comparable in quality.
