Wow..just had the experience of replacing the heater core in the 70.....Having the ZL1 motor with factory a/C made it a real pain in the rear. Over 2 hours to get the core out and almost 5 to get it back in. There was barely enough room to get a wrench between the head and the speed nut the holds the core in place. THink I could have rebuilt a transmission easier than this job.....however....got heat now (now that spring is here and don't need it !!) and everything is good.

cool. It feels good to tackle big jobs, or little jobs the get big. I have to pull on mine or pull my front clip to put my A/C parts in so I dred the job, its that or have the wife not wanting to go for rides in the 105+ deg weather.

That sounds fun. I just did mine this past weekend...the cleanup alone took 5 hours. It made a mess of the inside of the car, and somehow found a knick in the POR15 paint...peeled off half of it on the passenger side. Had to clean, clean, and clean some more before I could put it all back together.

Rod..before I would tackle that job again, I would move to a cooler climate !!!! Good luck!
