Simple green or even one of the various "spray foam" engine cleaners

i was worried that the engine cleaners will it "stain/mark" the paint?

Dilute some simple green. I've used it all over the engine and tires in the past but it WILL affect plastics in full potent form. Dillute per bottle, go real diluted at first and try it.

nother idea - Dawn dishwashing liquid, a sponge and a wet towel. little dawn in bowl and spot clean.

I dont use the foamy engine bright stuff myself but diluted simple green has worked well on everything from the engine and tires to interior. Got full strength on a plastic air intake housing on my monte and the paint faded a bit. Just dilute and go at it, keep off plastic.

What they said, and then if you need to, scuff it and touch up the paint.
