I have a chance to get a set of these .....Complete Rectangular Port Aluminum Head 2.25 Valves # 12363400...... heads from a buddie for a pretty fair price. They are brand new, and unused. I figure by buying a set of performance oriented heads that are new, I will have lots more potential, and will not have to spend any $ on machine work, and such.

These heads will work on my Gev5 Block, so thats not a problem.

What sort of cam would I want for these heads, and how about an intake?? I really want to retain my EFI, but will switch to carb if totally necessary. Does anyone have any good EFI alternatives to bigblock high rpm high HP land?

I am assuming that these heads will be better with a larger cam than I was originally thinking of(268) with stock heads.

I wonder what the conbustion chamber size is on these, and what my compression ratio will end up at with my stock bottom end? Maybe it is time for a rebuild of it, and put some flat tops in it??

I am SO lost in this BigBlock stuff.

I'm guessing those heads are 119cc open chamber. Your EFI should be upgrade-able bigger injectors or some tuning.

Cam I'm sure others will chime in and want to know the rest of your current combo? What heads and compression are you running now? Gear ratio trans, stall?

Lots to deciding a cam shoot UDHarold or Wolfplace a post or e-mail.

Just my 2cents. Those heads may be more than what you are looking for or need. If you all ready have rectangular ports you are set. Just swap them out.

At the moment I have a 350....... 4 speed, 12bolt with 3.73's.

I am building this motor up to swap into my car, and just want it to perform as well as it can.

You have not given a displacement or a purpose. Ie 454/502 or daily driver, street/strip. The rect vs oval port debate has been common on this board. My thought is if you are building a more "mild" combo the oval port is the way to go and a more extreme build up is where you consider a rect port head. Along the same lines a larger motor will accept the bigger port head and not worry so much about killing the low end torque. If the heads were GMPP oval ports they are good for a mild/wild setup. I think the heads are 119cc and you will neeed a dome to get resonable compression. I would shoot for 10:1 and would pick a cam to match the rpm range that suits your needs ie converter/gear/ street-strip etc.

Street Strip, driver, fun car, weekend cruiser.

It is a 454, and I want to be able to roast tires, and click off 12's. I thin kit is an 8:1 motor now with 130 something cc chambers. SO looks like a bottom end rebuild would be inline.
