Did a 1967 Chevelle with a 375 hp 396 4 speed car originally have a windage tray? How do I identify what the correct oil pan should be? Is there a difference between a Chevelle, Camaro and Impala oil pan and how can I identify which one is which. Also is there a different oil pan used when using a windage tray. I have put a windage tray on my 396 Chevelle and I am having a hard time getting a oil pan to clear the mounting studs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Chevy had windage trays for the Corvettes but the Chevelles never got them that I am aware of. I had one installed years ago but it did take some work.

the oilpan needed for that Corvette windage tray won't fit a Chevelle. BTDT!

Chevy High Perf had a test of the stock type (flat solid) windage tray in a recent issue vs no tray and an aftermarket large pan with built-in tray/scraper, etc. Of course the aftermarket tray added hp but the stock type tray LOST hp vs no tray at all. The thinking was that it added resistance to the spinning oil "rope" around the crank.
