i switched steering columns in my 79 & 81 el caminos..the 79 was alrite but when i start my 81 it idles funny and cuts off..what do i have to do to fix this problem?

First, check the harness where it pugs into the column to make sure it's seated. I am not familar with the newer colums but I had a 75 tilt column in my 70 and there was no difference. Check the harness plug in and get back to us.

Also check the spark plug wires on the drivers side. It is possible that some may have been damaged or knocked off whie the column was being changed.
