I am converting my 68 Chevelle from 4 wheel drums to 4 wheel disc. I know that the 4 wheel drum set up does not have a proportioning valve it has a distribution block with the brake switch. My question is can I leave the distribution block alone and just add an adjustable proportioning valve to the rear brakes to adjust brake bias with out adding a special disc/disc proportioning valve.

You sure can. It would work great. Just leave the adjustable valve all the way open when bleeding the system.
