What would be the best solid roller lifters for the street? I have a set of compcams 819-16 but have been told by a few people to run the new isky redzone or crower hippo better oiling. Any info on this would be appreciated.

Either brand you've mentioned are fine.
The only advantage between the two is the Isky's are rebuildable.
I run the Crowers but will change over at the next refresh because of that reason.

If you decide to go with the Isky's check with Mike Lewis (a.k.a. Wolfplace). He has pretty good deals on Isky stuff ;)

I got two sets of +.300 tall red zones for my Dart Blocks from Mike Lewis. The aftermarket blocks and new "Bowtie CNC" Blocks require the taller lifters. Very nice products and reasonably priced thru Mike.

I also recommend Mike at Lewis Racing. I'm assembling a ZL-1 block for a friend and that has the .300" taller lifter bores. We were in a bind and he had us a set of Isky's in 3 days I believe. And the price was less than I thought they'd be.

Running the Crower SD with HIPPO option. WHen they show wear or any signs of trouble, I'll switch to Isky RZ.

Anybody ever find out how much Isky charges to rebuild their Red Zones?

Hey,,, I am gone for a few days & still get talked about :D

Went to the AETC (Advanced Engine Technology Conference) in Colorado Springs to listen to all them smart guys,,,, also I figure if I stand real close some of the smarts will rub off but so far it ain't workin graemlins/sad.gif

Thanks guys graemlins/beers.gif & of course I gotta agree, my favorite roller is the Red Zone. ;)

The cost for rebuilding is $220 net which means it costs you the same thing it costs me.

And,,, if you email me I do have pretty fair pricing on them.

Hey Mike,

When Isky rebuilds their roller lifters, what is actually done to them? What parts are actually replaced?
Do all manufacturers rebuild lifters the same way (as far as part replacement)?

Thanks

Thanks Can't speak for all manufacturers but Isky pretty much does whatever it takes to make them as new.
The roller assemblies are always replaced along with anything else that needs replacing.

Just received an e-mail from Nolan jamara at ISky. Price for Red Zone rebuilds is $225. 2005 price increase?

Let's see...$225 / 16 = $14.06 each, not bad
