I did a lengthy search on this, but the responses came across as inconclusive. Perhaps there is a difference between the 69 tag and the 70 tag :confused: :confused:

Which of the following is the correct wording for a 69 12 bolt? Appreciate it.

Here is a pic (blurry) of an original one on a 68 Chevelle. I have an NOS one that I can check the wording on, but I'm not sure that would be of any help as I'm not sure what year it is designated for.

Agree Rick, that other tag may not help if we don't know the specific year. Thanks for the pic of the 68.

Hopefully somebody out there has a definitive answer.

My understanding is the positraction wording tag is correct for most 69's with the limited slip tags on some carry-over Camaros and all 70 applications. I have a 03C built 69 Z28 JL8 car here that was a one owner original paint car pretty unmolested if you know what I mean that has the positraction tag. I would expect to see a positraction tag on any 69 Chevelle so equipped. Camaros being built up till Dec 69 in the 69 style body have some exceptions as they were built alongside other 70 models.

That input seems to make perfect sense and backs up Rick's idea that "positraction" wording was used on 69's and earlier. Thanks Chris.

Don -I know my car isn't a 69-but mine still has the original tag on the original 3:31 12 bolt posi rear in it-will check on the weekend-if it warms up-keep on cruising-Dave.

i have the positraction one on my 68 rear end its a posi 12 bolt

Thats what I put under my 69.
