I replaced the old rearend in my '69 Malibu w/ Currie 9+ rearend w/ Curretrac lower control arms and the adjustable (turnbuckle style) upper control arms by Currie. I have bottomed out the threads on the turnbuckles ( upper control arms cannot be shortened further) and the face of the diff yoke only has a -1 degree(1 degree nose down) attitude. I have read that you need a -2 to -5 deg down angle on the face of the differential. I am only 1 degree off; is this within acceptable tolerance or will the driveshaft vibrate on acceleration/deacceleration? The only way to push the face of the diff down further is to shorten the upper control arms and this will take shaving threads off the bolts in the turnbuckles (grade 8 metal). As always, any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Brawley

Is the car on the tires or jack stands? I know this sounds obvious but that's all I could think of.

Thank you for your reply. I measured the angle with the car on the ground. I was surprised with the lack of responses on this huge forum regarding this problem. Thanks, Brawley

Try posting in the appropriate forum group. Also, have you used the SEARCH feature to find your answer? this has been discussed many times.

64-67 used longer upper-arms than 68-72... make sure you didn't get the wrong ones for your year of car.

Also, pinion angle should be equal to the angle the transmission is at, with equal/opposite U-joint working angles.
