Need some assistance in decoding my cowl tag. The tag is as follows:

TR 795 57 57
12A 07742 L

VIN # - 136379K61516

I have read with interest some of the posts on the infamous "L" letter on the tag. I do not have any documentation with my Chevelle, although many of the items inherent on an SS are present. Makes for interesting reading. I do know that the 57 57 indicates a color of Dark Green Metallic for both the upper and lower body color. Beyond that, I am not sure what the numbers indicate. I would also be interested in knowing the location of web resources that can be used for cowl tag decoding purposes. Thanks.

I have a cowl tags book from MSA-1, this is what I can come up with

ST= style 1969
13637= V8 malibu 2 door hard top.....2 door sport coupe
KAN= Kansas city, Mo Leeds plant
TR=trim 795=green, vinyl bench seat
57 57 fathom green paint
12A=december, 1st week, should be 1968
