Year One site claims in 1968 there were about 265,000 coupes and 22,000 2 dr post cars. See link below and be sure to add all models and engines.

I wonder if the stuff that has been done to it would make it worth more or less. I put a 396ci, 350 turbo, 12 bolt and disc brakes on it.

Definitely more...

Unless its in near-perfect original shape (low miles, etc), its not as desirable as a 2-door hardtop (Don't equate "rare" with " value or desire)... Don't get me wrong, there are some people that would prefer it original over modified, but IMO, more people are going to want a more performance oriented machine when it comes to the lower end models...

68 300 Posts make great COPO, Stocker type cars.

Big Block, no frills, poverty caps, 4 speed with Redlines.

I saw a 68 done last year in Black and just fell in love with it.

Definately will be my next car.

Are you talking about building a $70,000 clone????

You can't clone something that never was, but I'd think an extremely clean 68 300 and a big block/M22 conversion would be a whole lot cheaper than a nut and bolt clone.

And possibly neater.

$60, but who's counting. Better than spending it on a bar stool.

(or not spending anything and leaving it under blankets for 3 years) :D

I'm trying to figure out how to lead this diversion back to the original posters topic and question but I'm currently at a loss.

Maybe it's build it how you want it, don't worry about what it's worth, or what anybody else thinks. :D

It's cool to get off track and throw different ideas out there. I originally owned a 68 SS with a small block that i raced all through my high school years. i sold it to put a down payment on a house when i got married and after 17 years of marriage, my wife started missing that car. I set out to find one and ended up with this post car. I took it down to the metal and totally spent to much blood sweat and tears on it than i wanted to but looking at it now, it was all worth it. I feel I overdid it in a way but the parts are hard to find.

Anybody who has a nice car has no choice but to over-do it.

E-mail me some pics and I'll be glad to post them for you.

I'm not trying to sell it, I'm just curious about the value due to it being a post car.
