71 - 1971
13680 - El Camino Custom pickup delivery
L - Los Angeles Assembly
06962 - Body serial number (different from VIN)

705 - Unknown trim color code, check to be sure you got it right
75 75 - Cranberry Red, lower and upper colors are the same

04A - Production Date code, April, 1st weeks production
707147 060004 - Data Processing Sequence Number from the Broadcast system placed on tag for reference and for id'ing the body for stagging.

Nothing here proves or disproves an SS OPTIONED vehicle. The VIN may narrow it down because of engine code, but no 6 or 307 engines could get the SS option and a 454 was only available with the SS option.

Beginning is 1969 Chevrolet downplayed the SS by making it an option and no longer a model. So it can be hard to determine authenticity as in the past with a unique model designation. NOTE-Bucket seat, gauges, floor shift does not prove an SS car, options on all Malibu and Custom El Camino's and never standard on SS option after 1964.
