There's a frame off 68/69 that was built by Budnik that has a set of wide 20's on it. Really sweet ride. The car is blue in color, also has a rawhide buckskin interior. Take a look on the net it may be a good example. Hope I helped.

Get the backspacing right and an 11" wide wheel will fit on a 68-72 without any mods.

i've never seen one with them wide enough to look decent on chevelle

20s are for ghetto cruiser trucks IMO, not classic cars

wide rims no i think a muscar should have wide tires in the rear, or else to me its not a muscle car, imo, troy thats the problem im clueless when it comes to that. but a 11 is nice 11 by wut?

295 to be safe, but a 315 will fit with some work. give jon at driverzinc a call. he'll get you set up with the right combo. also, check out the pro-touring.com or lateral-g.net sites. you'll get a lot more help on this issue and less "20s are for ghetto cruiser trucks IMO, not classic cars".

thunderstruck - you're right, if we wanted a "classic car" stuck in the 70's we'd go stock. but, we're building muscle cars that are up to date. ;)

Wow that looks good, the style of wheels really works on that and they dont come off as being 20's with the ghetto look, very .

Can you give the specs on them for me?

Greg wicked ride! Muscle cars were built in the 60's and 70's. If you own a chevelle, camaro etc then you have a muscle car. Wheel size has to do with preference. Face it guy's the larger wheel and tire combo is here to stay. Done with taste it looks good. AR's 20 inch on a muscle car looks great. Now the bling-bling G money more ice than rim does'nt fit the style for a muscle car. Pro-touring is a nice twist on the classic cars, it's new technology with a classic style body. That's having your Cake and eating it to. I'm building my 64 in regards to a Pro-touring look. I went with 17's. The next chevelle
a 72 will have 18/20 combo. If your the 15 inch rally wheel guy I respect that to.

Andy,
Thanks to you and Joel for the compliments.
The wheels are American Racing Torque Thrust II's, 20 x 8.5 with 4.75 backspace. I am playing with the car's ride height. I need to raise the front a little because I rub the outer side of the wheel well in a tight turn. New springs are sitting on the garage floor waiting on me and the time.

The wheels are 20 x 8.5 all the way around. Basically zero offset.
