I want a little bigger tires for the rear. Just for cruising around town.
Was thinking maby P235/70R14 front, P255/70R14 rear. Wouldnt mind hearing what you guys think, thanks

There isn't alot of choices for 14's anymore. They don't make a 235 or a 255/70-14 anymore. I think the tallest they make is a 225/70-14, which is 26 1/2 tall. The 245/60-14 is only like 25 1/2 tall which looks pretty small on Chevelles. The best bet if you like your rims is to go with 225/70-14's.

I am really happy with period Trans AM / Yenko style. These are American Racing Vintage Series 105 rims 15X8.5 with 245-60-15 kelly tireshttp://i28.tinypic.com/69dycz.jpg

From a previous post --> for troops with 14" wheels....I just installed BFG 245/60-14's on all four corners. Took off the 17" bling wheels and went with the ZJ7 rallies.....ride is much better, with a large footprint too. The 245/60-14's are beefy....No issue with rubbing or clearance, with the 245/60's
...if you wish a taller tire -->Dave427 mentioned the BFG 225/70-14's...they are taller and will fill up the wheel well more.
Thanks 68KMENO for finding the center caps...they look great!!!

Hey Texas, mind posting some more pics of your El Camino with the 245 60 14 radial t/a's cause i have a 1970 El Camino and i am thinking of getting those tires. I can't decide between those and the cooper cobra g/t's. The coopers are only a 235 60 14 but they are very close in size. I think the 225 70 14 is a little to skinny for me, id rather have the width. Heres a pic of my El Camino with 235 60 14's

Thanks for all the advice. I've decided to go with:
BF Goodrich T/As P225/60R14s inthe front and P245/60R14s in the back.
