Do I really need polyurthene motor mounts with a 454 around 450 hp or so? Rubber mounts from Auto Zone are a ton cheaper and I'm way over budget. And do you get more vibration from the polyurethane? I figure in a few years when I stroke it, I'll go poly or do I just need to suck it up and buy them now? Welcome advice from folks that have been there tried that. Thanks in advance T.C.

Go with the polyurethane mounts now, the rubber mounts don't last long with a torquey engine. And yes you can feel them a bit more than rubber.

I'm still using the rubber mounts on my 66. I use the ones that lock in case of failure. I have not broken a rubber mount in years. By the way the car runs mid tens.
