On our 67 chevelle I have put a tubular trailing arm kit w/ rear sway bar from CPP on it and I am having a problem getting the sway bar to fit.
Here is the deal when first installed the sway bar would not come close to bolting to the arm with the rear u-bolt (front bolt would fit) without hitting the pumpkin. Called CPP and was told the arms I had were a new design and since then they had found out there were several bolt hole configurations for 64-67 chevlles and if I would drill another hole just above the front one this would solve the problem. Well I did see ths picture below and while it improved the situtation the rear sway bar will not bolt in at the rear u-bolt without hitting the pumpkin. Called CPP again and they said the body had to be on the car to add enough weight for the frame to go down enough for the bar to clear the bottom on of the pumpkin. I think CPP is full of s**t, as I have seen numerous chevelles with this suspension here in the forums with arms and bars in place and no body on the car. Frankly, I do not see how the body at the rear of the car would add enough weight to drop the frame for the sway bar to bolt in and clear the pumpkin. I even tried having two buddies (over 500# between the 2) sit on a large long 4 x 4 to squat the frame and that helped some, but with the weight off the bar would hit the pumpkin.
I would like to finish this before the body goes back on the car if possible. I suspect the lower rear arms are drilled wrong from CPP and if that the case would like to change out while the frame is open. Anyone else had this problem with CPP trailing arms or what do I do??????????
Thanks
Larry
