Liquid filled gauge?
Some liquid filled gauge don't read well when they warm up.

Your pressure can also vary depending on your installation. You will get a more stable reading using a relay and proper sized wiring to the pump. If you skimp on the wiring, the pump will "slow down" as it heats up.

Running the same pump and also seemingly loosing fuel pressure at the the carb W/ a liquid guage [cheep $ Jegs brand]. I get a decent 6.5psi at start up... Drops to 2-3 after warm up.
