Can I just get a cable-type tailshaft housing and use it or do I need to buy one of those expensive electronic-to-cable kits? I know I need to get some different speedo gears, but I'm trying to save money if I can.:beers:

it uses the same speedo parts as a th400. just go to your local trans rebuilder and ask for the th400 mech speedo parts. you may have to get the tailshaft gear to match to calibrate the speedo. tom

What about the oval tailshaft speedo-cable provision on the electronic-type tailshaft?

it uses the same speedo gears as buick,pontiac and olds 350 turbo.first if you have a 700 all you have to do is knock the metal gear off and get the correct plastic gears and a speedo clip. the tailhousing will be the same so you only need the outer speedo housing and the retainer to hold it on. greg
