I only use IE for my online class, but I just started IE and it took me to MSN live. This is not my normal homepage.:(
Is this a homepage highjacker or did mircosoft do that intentionally?

I wouldn't worry about it. Our computers at work do that every month when they do the updates. Apparently Microsoft hoses something and it takes the IT guys a while to correct it each time.
You should be able to reset your home page so things are right again.

I've never had MS hijack my home page unless I accidentally hit the Use Default button under Tools > Internet Options and I get all updates automatically.
I have seen where some Internet site used as a home page may change something miniscule in a user's custom link (especially if it's a .php or .asp URL) to them and when MS can't find it it'll return to the default.
Me, I hate searching through text links in Favorites or relying on an external site to never change so I have a local .htm page with most of my commonly used links and have that set to my home page. Much faster when I fire up IE and doesn't rely on a connection to some distant site.
