Hey guys, I have been looking for tires for my 71. I have been looking, like everyone else, for a set of 295/50r15. I was going to get indy 500's because the BFG's are unavailable. I went to firestone to learn they stopped making them:eek:!!! Checked thetirerack.com and ALL their brands are unavailable. Discount tires doesn't even have a listing as if the size never existed! The only ones I can find are the coopers and I have to order them from summit.
Then I started thinking, I wonder if this sudden disappearance has anything to do with the "low resistance" tire law that goes into effect this year. Higher profile and wider tires are considered high resistance (LOL, aka TOO MUCH TRACTION!)
Can anybody calm me down by disproving this!? I know certain companies have said the tires will be available soon but are they simply trying to keep the customer?
