I am trying to hook up my oil pressure guage, the small block had a little port right on the top backside of the engine, easy access, I cant seem to find one on the Big Block, I also hope to find a port that isnt near the headers.

I always hook mine up right above the oil filter. There is a small tapped hole with a plug in it. I use a brass fitting with copper line. It is close to the header but angles up and away from it. I have never had a problem.

I am using an Autometer electric sender, and have it mounted at the front of the block / drivers side of motor, small plug that taps into the oil galley there. Great place to mount the sending unit, away from headers and is the farthest distance from the pump.

Above the oil filter? I was thinking it would be there, I remember tapping off that hole with a plug when building the engine. So, some brass line & Fittings, I hate dealing with fittings, sizes, and thread types.
