I'm going to be running 15 x 7 TTD on my '69 SS. I have made the decision to go with radial tires, as I just don't think I'll be able to get past the bad handling stories of bias ply that I've heard.
I was speaking to a salesman at Diamonback Classics yesterday, and was looking for possibly a drag radial out back ( that would still have a decent tread pattern on the street ). I also thought the redline would be a nice period touch.
The biggest size he could offer me was a BFG Drag Radial in 235/60/R15 which doesn't seem too big. The tread pattern on the M/T was not suitable for street driving.
For the fronts they offer Yokohama, 245/60/R15, which seemed OK.
I also understand that the regular run of the mill BFG Radial T/A all come in raised white letter. I like the RWL, just not on the wheels I'm going to be using. And I'm not a fan of turning the letters in, as that drives me batty when looking under the car.
Yes, I realize I'm being picky, but any suggestions are welcome.
