I just saw a video of the winning 67 Chevelle's run which is posted on HotRod's website. Boy does that thing sound pretty. I'm wondering how much N2O he used and if the transmission is a clutchless 5 speed or not, anybody know? I'm also curious as to the availability of any CD's of the entire event.

Harold,
he had a G force trans in it and must have been using an ignition interupt on the shift cause it sounded like a shotgun went off with each shift.
I was down there with the 69 twin turbo charger car crew ( not my car I was just a helper/truck driver mostly.

Someone told me it was a Jerico but i think the G Force 5 speed is stronger so i think you are right. Your Hemi the one that occupied the #5 spot?

Harold,
yup we got 5th . not too bad. it was a riot down there.
the chevelle winner had a g force sticker on his trailer so I dont think it was a Jerico. heh

The Camaro that placed # 7 also is a stick but i don't know what kind of gear he has as he only got thru three of them. Of course he didn't have any N2O so had much less horsepower than the winning 67 Chevelle. He also seemed to pop between gear changes so they must be using similar setups. This is commonly used in drag raced motorcycles as these dog ring type crashboxes are easy to shift with the power momentarily interrupted between gears.

Hey Guys, that pop is from using a nitrious window switch. He is one of the few guys that I have seen running one. You need one in a stick car for sure.
Every nitrious guy knows that the "gas" and a rev limiter dont work good together at the same time.

So is the nitrous window switch like an air-shifter on a motorcycle that kills the ignition for a split second while the tranny shifts gears?

it doesn't kill the ignition, it only allows the nitrous to flow within a certain rpm range that you set. I'd consider it a MUST for any nitrous setup...ever seen someone accidentily hit the spray at about 1500rpms? :D
