Getting ready to paint my 67 and I need pics of the trunk panel that is painted black, how far to go up and down, etc. Any pics will be appreciated. Thanks

Finally found a good one on ebay I think, I did a search on here and looked in the gallery and just couldn't find one that looked defined to me that is why I posted here.

There were three versions of the blacked out area above the cove; horizontal across the seams, a 30 to 45 degree angle across the seams, and following the seams. From what data I've been able to gather from original cars, plants and time seem to be the factor in which type of painting this area got. Many, many repaints don't even put this blacked out area back on - good to see you are!

FWIW, rarely found on Malibu repaints but they got this blacked out area above the cove as well even though the cove itself was painted lower body color. :yes:

The "67 chevelle pamphlet/brochure" from GM has a nice pic of the black area with the trunk open on the second to last page.
