i just bought a posi off ebay. the guy selling it said it came factory in a 67 el camino and that it was a 3.73 ratio. the numbers on the rear were as follows 3969278nf on the pumpkin and ccf 1113b1 were on the axle. is there any chance that rear was factory installed in a 67 camino?? oh and the numbers on the gears read h 26 j.

mike, sorry to tell you the bad news. that rear is for a newer car. 1970-1972 to be specifec. but on a 67 the wheel wells are more generous. it may work fine, with the correct back space rims. tom

It will depend on the tire wheel combo. My 67 has the correct rear and it has just enough room for my 285X60X15 tires on 8 inch rims.

If you try to run a big tire or wrong offset rim that rear will give you some grief.

I run a 68 housing in a 67, your ebay housing is the same width as a 68. I'm able to run 275/60 DR's on 15X8 wheels with 5" bs no body mods/stock height.

Normally 67 and earlier housing fetch a little more money so I hope you're alright $$ wise....Good luck.
