hi im new to el caminos . i just bought my first one 2 days ago . well the pink slip says it is a 1964 but after decoding the vin and cowl they both say it is a 1965 .the pink dose match the vin . cowl 1st line 12c . 2nd line 65-13680 body bf 2027 . 3rd line tr 763 wich i think is tan bench seat paint jj j i think thats green on green . 4th line b70 dash pad . vin136805zxxxxxx . is this normal for el caminos

Does the registration actually say it is a 64? Where I live, DMV will have "Year Registered" on the title. If this 65 model is an early built car that was build before the end of 64 and licensed before Jan1,65, the title will reflect that it was registered at the end of 64.
Notice that our titles say "year registered", not "model year".

this is a ca title car the pink slip says year model is 64 . i have owned a few chevelles and other gm cars and have never seen our heard of this.

sold to me as a 64 . i dont have a preferance just whanted to know . they also said it had a 350cid turned out to be a 307 .lol good thing i have a 427 itching to find a home .thanks for the help

Although it was built in December of 64, it is a 65 model year Elky. Get the DMV or whatever its called to fix the error.

Sounds like a possible clairical error on th DMVs part. Perhaps someone put a 64 clip on it and is actually a 65 car?
