Anyone have a 67 with code 5J on it?? If so, are you confident as to what it means for your car?

Thanks

I believe that code is for Deluxe rear center seat belt. It has been confirmed on at least one 67 corvair (that has the original invoice) and I am very close to confirming it on a 67 impala and have seen the actual code several times. We think the related code to that is 5M which we think is regular rear center seat belt but have not been able to confirm it on any cars we have seen it on.

I think what Warren is saying is that option codes for General Motors are usually the same across model lines. The trim code on the Corvair should mean the same as on your Chevelle. I have a mid eighties truck parts catalogue and it is amazing how many RPO codes are still the same from the sixties.
I am hoping that the "we" reference is to all of us here at the Team Chevelle forum.http://bestsmileys.com/thumbs/7.gif

We consists of myself, the cowl tag researchers from CORSA, and a guy from the CRG. I have a picture of a cowl tag from a junked 67 sport coupe from Framingham that had 5J.
