I have a set of 292 BBC heads off of my 402 that im not using on my new engine. My buddy is building a 454 for his 72 Jimmy. I told him i thought these heads would be good on a 454 or a 496 stroker. Am i wrong?? i might be trading them for body work. thus my question is presented. What would be a fair price. they are complete and in good condition

The "292" heads did come on some 454s so to answer your question, yes they would be suitable for a 454. How much are they worth? That depends a lot on what they have done to them. Do they have larger 2.19/1.88 valves or are they stock size 2.06/1.72 valves? Have they been ported at all?

If the heads are pretty much stock with stock valves and no port work, and considering they are ready to bolt on...I'd say they are worth anywhere from $150-$300 depending on who is interested in them.
