It would be a simple matter of locateing the seats were you want them markimg the hole lacations and drilling bolt holes to mount them.

IF you do it that way, be sure to put some BIG hurky washers or strips of angle iron underneath to keep the bolts from pulling through the floor pan if you have an accident.

Its not really that easy, theese floors arnt exactly flat. More likely than not your going to have to fab up and weld in a bracket of some sort. Im goin to have to do this to get my late model monte seats in.

Not sure how big Silverado seats are, but if you're thinking about using seats that weren't made for an "A" body I'd make damn sure they'll fit without interfering with the console and seat belt retractor. If you use "A" body seats you can buy the brackets you need for the conversion. Just did this on my '72, no sweat.

ok so you are saying that if i buy "A" body seats they will mount right up? and to install them i just need to buy the brackets and they will bolt in exactly?

You need to buy the bucket seat brackets and weld them in. They are around 50 bucks. Buckets seats only use one of the original bolts from the bench mounting locations (outside rear bolt).

After welding the brackets in the seats will be a correct fit.

If you wanted to be super cool you could get some seats from a 98 Chrysler Sebring. They have the integrated shoulder harness built in to the seat. As for being easy to install I think not. But a way cool upgrade.

:noway: INSIDE rear bolt------if the outside is used, seatbelt retractors will not fit without seat contact.

outside for bench------------inside for bucket

The buckle and belts are all part of the seat. It is a self contained unit.
For that reason the seats can not be Just mounted to the sheet metal floor with bolts and washers. I used 1 1/8 " round bar and intersected the factory floor braces. The seats have a electric G sensor that controls when the shoulder harness locks.
I installed them in my 69 El Key. I wont tell you it was a piece of cake, but the end result was a modern seat with a integrated shoulder harness that I think is super bitchen.
