: Another tech question......
Jim_D Mar 9th, 08, 4:00 PM I run a oil accumulator and needed to put in this adapter. However, when I bolted it up the holes for the accumulator are partially blocked by the block. What am I missing?
I hate being Chevy challenged, it's embarrassing.....:sad::pout:

FourEightyNine Mar 9th, 08, 5:16 PM Jim, might wana throw this up in the Performance section. Name it Oil Accumulator adapter help or something like that.
Jim_D Mar 9th, 08, 6:59 PM I went to the Summit Racing web site and it says "Will fit big block Mark IV Chevy engines with minor block modifications".
So I guess I need to grind a little off the block???
Why is this posted in cruise-ins?
Jim_D Mar 9th, 08, 7:29 PM Why is this posted in cruise-ins?
1.) Because I wanted to post it here, all my Chev friends are here.
2.) Some of the most knowledgeable BBC lurk in here.
3. Lastly, did know there were rules on subjects to be posted in the NW section. If so I will obey.
Xtreme70SS396 Mar 9th, 08, 7:54 PM Hey, we're ALL you're Chev friends!!
If you post it in performance, you'll get a ton more responses, more visibility, and may even get lucky with someone that's done the same thing as you.
I'd hate to grind the block, but I'd think there would be a 1/2" spacer or something you could use for that purpose.
1.) Because I wanted to post it here, all my Chev friends are here.
hmm, I thought we were all friends
2.) Some of the most knowledgeable BBC lurk in here.
Some of the most knowledgeable replies are in the engines and performance forums
3. Lastly, did know there were rules on subjects to be posted in the NW section. If so I will obey.
No steadfast rules, we just like to keep subjects organized in their proper forums, that's all
Didn't have anything to do with cruise-ins.
FourEightyNine Mar 9th, 08, 8:13 PM Dean, this NW group section has been very beneficial to all the Chevelleians who frequent it. We have pretty much all met each other and we have a little cliche of members who are dedicated drag racers.
Most of our threads here in the NW are non-cruise related.
Hope this clears everything up.
I just wondered why a tech question wouldn't be posted in the proper forum.
I was under the impression that the NW extension of the cruise-in forum was set up for posts about gatherings and such.
kettbo Mar 9th, 08, 9:32 PM He was obviously testing the savvy of the local guys before going national.
Kinda like in the Army where you go ask your NCO for help or advice before going straight to the Colonel.

Oh for crying out loud, I won't post anything but cruise in stuff to keep your panties from being bound up. Please define cruise in so I am clear on my future posts.

Ok lets get together to solve Jims problem. :D:beers:

I already know. I must modify the block to use it. Thanks, Jim

Jim, just invite us to cruise over and show ya. I'll tell ya what I'm gonna show ya in advance. :D
66 Buick Special Mar 9th, 08, 11:12 PM I thought Al had covered this subject a couple weeks back in regards to the NW section.
He said what we are doing here, is what he had hoped would happen when he created the site in the first place. I'm still not sure why no one else has approached him about a SW, NE, SE forum. Meeting all of you local guys has been a huge help to me personally.
Besides, why wouldn't you at least attempt to ask the guys first that are willing and able to drive over to your house and help out with these little problems?
It's not like we aren't posting in other forums such as Engine, Performance, Bench Racing, etc...

Well, Ya' don't need to get YOUR panties all bound up either Jim, I just asked a question- sheesh.
Maybe I should have just moved the thread and kept quiet like I usually do for everyone else here.
A couple of the things said in the replies to my question do kind of bother me a little though,
the "ALL" in "all my Chev friends are here"
and the "we have a little cliche of members"
Anyway, IF you look at the different forum titles and descriptions, you can figure out which topic belongs where without any further definitions.
Sorry to upset you so :o
webfoot Mar 9th, 08, 11:52 PM Really it should be called the Western Washington forum! :D
flink69SS Mar 10th, 08, 12:14 AM See, I don't even need to be involved in a post to get us locked out again...
Dave Mar 10th, 08, 12:49 AM Everybody just STOP, take a breath, and RELAX.
Dean, Jim was really just trying to get the attention of Roger (Fat Tire), and Darryl (FRYNTYR). They are His Personnal friends, and Racing Partners, and BB Guru's.
Being that Jim just converted to Chevy's, We really need to guide Him to the path of enlightenment. I'm not sure if that's possible, but We'll try.
He's really just a wannabe Graphic Artist, with limited talent.
So let's all stop snapping at each Other, and TRY TO GET ALONG!
