Where is the power feeding the BAT terminal on the cap coming from?

Dean thanks for the reply, the power is coming from inside the fuse box terminal labeled ING plug

You may have a power supply problem. Be sure the connectors on that wire are soldered on and the terminals fit tightly to the HEI and fuse box. A poor connection will cause low voltage, which will result in no spark. A better way to get power for HEI's is to remove the resistor wire from firewall bulkhead and install 12g wire for the HEI. You can buy a kit do do this from JEGs (http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product2_10001_10002_760671_-1) which also has the proper connectors.

Also check the fuse clips to make sure they are making a good connection to the fuse.

Hello to everyone who gave me insight on what my problem might have been with the chevelle not firing at times. I just wanted everyone to know the lord showed me the problem through a guy at our tech center at the school I teach at, anyway the problem was the (pick-up) coil inside the distributor.
Thanks hope this help someone else .
