Looks like Monroe was sold finally. Might be an oppertunity to send some E`Mails or something expressing our hopes in keeping the 1/8 mile up and running....

About time it got sold. The Beadle family hasn't done anything to the track.....EVER! Lex is a racer (roundy track) so he might make improvements to the track. Don't look for anything to happen on the drag side as his interest will be on the other side.

The said news is that Lex is the guy I gave pictures of my car so he could do vinyl graphic. He promised about 4-5 times he would call back for a bid. Never called and still has my pictures.

Only thing is, county still owns the facility, he just bought the managment company. Hard to dump money into it unless there's they have something coming in that will help pay for improvements, like get the Truck series back or an actual cup race. They won't even entertain Monroe unless there are drastic improvements, like repave the crappy surface.
I raced on that track for years and the surface is horrid.

Jim, you are so right, beadles didn't put &%$# into that facility.

I have a feeling Lex will be able to work out something with the county as he seems to be a savey business guy.

Hey there's plenty of room for a dedicated 1/8 mile track on the east side! :D

I will be going down this weekend to talk to Lex and get my pictures back and also talk to him about the possibility of a real 1/8th mile track.

It they build it they will come!!!!!!!!! He would get more cars than the circle track. Less work for them too for the same gate price.

It will work only if they enforce the rules. When they first started 1/8th mile racing down there you had to run muffs, all rules were enforced and checked very well (belts, etc...) and no blowers and nitrous. There is a huge liability issue here and when someone finally gets hurt and sues the Speedway it will eventually hurt us all.
I say build a real 1/8th mile track but enforce rules and run muffs.
