I put one on a otherwise stock '80 Z-28 some
years ago and it worked quite well for a while.
This was actually back when they were B&M units
only but anywhoo...eventually the ****ty late
model heads developed cracks. But it made quite a difference in the performance level of the car.
It never made it on the track but I'll put it this way.I've owned several '78-'80 cars and a
'70 396 car and I'd have to say this is the type
of difference it made. They are real blowers that
can put 8-12 pounds of boost into your motor and
you'll know it.

I think less than $2000 in the satin finish less carb. and linkage? Maybe even down around $1700 or so but it's been a while since I looked into one of the mini-lungs.

I always figured that if my 496 doesn't give me that third gear kick I'm looking for I would either go a 177 or a 250 or 256 one. But now am thinking another bigger motor like a 588 or so.

But I'm probably justa dreaming right along......

No, it turns 177 cubic inches of air per spin vs 6 x 71 = 426 or so inches for the bigger old Gimmy type blower.

Both are known as "Roots" type blowers vs centrifugal and turbo types.

It's a dandy little blower for a mild motor of say 468" and smaller but you really need to contact Holley and ask questions to their Tech. guy's since they own both Weiand and B&M blowers now.

And they will be able to tell you how boost pressure can be changed by using different pulleys to increase power output for a given engine size too..
