The cam is a Lunati 402A3LUN, ground on 112LSA. Should I install this 'straight up' or advanced, or what? Here's the combo:

Instead of the Muncie 5-speed I am using a TKO-600.

Anyway, just didn't know how it needs or should or would like to be installed. I appreciate any tips.

Also, I'm running just a standard Accel HEI...am I going to need to change distributor gears with this cam?

Taylor,

If you install the cam 'dot-to-dot', it should be in the engine about on 108° int CL. The 402A3 will run just fine anywhere from 105° ATDC to l08° int CL. If you're worried, use my 'down-n-dirty' method of checking to see if you have the cam in the engine correct.
You will need to be able to find TDC.
With the valve covers off, turn the engine over several times until you have NR1 cylinder with both valves off the seat at TDC, and NR6 cylinder with both valves shut.At this step, measure the height of the intake lifter and the exhaust lifter out of the lifter bores. If the manifold is still on, measure at the retainers. Either place, I use an Machinist's steel rule, and I always measure from the top of the lifter to the lifter boss, or from the top of the retainer to the spring seat.
If the intake measurement is .025" to .040" higher at the lifter, or .040" to .060" higher at the retainer, the cam is in correct.
If the exhaust is higher than the intake in either case, the cam is retarded, and you definitely should degree the cam in.
This system has worked for thousands of people over the past 25 years....
