Could a 72 non SS 402 Elky be ordered with round style Tach & Gauge instruments? In 72, did a SS 402 ELky have SS emblems on the fender? Only if 454 did it get the numbers too? right? Yes, gages were optional on all models but a non-gage dash with idiot lights only could come with a SS pkg. The standard SS dash had round gage pod with lights instead of needle gages. In 72, did a SS 402 ELky have SS emblems on the fender? Yes, but no engine id nameplates. Right No, round gauges (with gauges not idiot lights) were an option on non SS cars. The round gauges with idiot lights were the base SS dash and not available without the SS option (except for the Monte Carlo), but the round gauge dash with gauges was optional on the SS. Gets confusing doesn't it.
